I spent much of the day at the office yesterday sneezing and using lots
of "kleenex" tissues. Frequent washing of hands and spraying Lysol
around. I forced myself to eat lunch yesterday even though I had no
appetite. I took an antihistamine when I got home but it did not help.
Last night was not at all hungry, either. I was running a mild fever so
I hunkered down on the couch before dragging myself off to bed last
night. My poor little cat, Cleo, didn't know what to make of it. She
wanted to play but I felt like crud. She did carry some toys into the
"TV room" and I tossed them around for her but I really just wanted to
sleep.
The symptoms continue today. It's a full-on Winter cold; first one I've
had in decades. Lots of sneezing, sore nose and I woke up with a sinus
pressure headache.
The office is closed today and tomorrow for Christmas. Hopefully I'll
be better when I go back to work on Thursday.
Got some bad news yesterday. Oh, it was not unexpected. The man who
owns the company I work for has been talking about this for the last 6
months. He finally decided to shut down the company early next year.
My manager, the CFO, and I will be among the last to go since we are the
Finance department. Got to resolve all the outstanding payables and
receivables even after all the other employees (who are not in South
Carolina) are gone. I'll be looking for another job next year.
Merry F'ing Christmas and Happy New Year!
