What weather conditions are you enjoying or suffering
through today?

Tuesday, 10-15, was a very cloudy day here and was so
chilly I had to resort to turning on the heat. The
lack of sunshine and a constant breeze kept everything
brisk. I've never had to resort to firing up the furnace
this early in the year. But the temperature in the house
never got above 64°F (17.77°C) and although I was dressed
warmly, there was a distinct chill. 🥶

Today it is beautiful and sunny, and we've just now managed
to reach 60°F (15.55°C) but there's still a light breeze.
My wind chimes are constantly tinkling, and the furnace has
come on several times today.

are about 82F/28C Humidity good also making every day pleasant now. No
rain this week and less of it for the next six months.

It was 44°F (6.66°C) when I went to bed with the predicted
low to be about 39°F (3.88°C), BRRRRRRRR. Temps are
predicted to be around 40°F (4.44°C) each night. Frost
is expected north of me in southern Kentucky and to the
east. I'm just not used to it being this chilly this
early in the fall.

A pleasant, sunny, cool, breezy day. We've had the furnace on
for a few days, since it's reaching the mid-30s at night. It
genuinely doesn't have much to do.

If it reached 60, my furnace wouldn't come on. We have enough
insulation in the attic that it stays at 71 indoors due to waste
heat from the fridge, TV, and our bodies.

I can't ever remember having the heat on this early in the
autumn. Normally, my furnace is not making its' presence
known until mid-November.

The new heat pump in the newer part of the house even got
to do its' thing yesterday and today. Thankfully, it
performed flawlessly.

Beautiful and sunny and cool, high today of 62°F. There was a nice
bright moon last night (not quite full) with some scudding clouds:

I've had the windows open for the last couple of days and will continue
that through the week. It is not time to turn on the heat here yet but
also no need for AC. Temps are supposed to be back in the 70's over the
weekend but the humidity is finally gone.

It was an odd day. When I opened the curtains this morning there was a
dark sky overhead but there was bright light and shadows from the sun to
the east. It cleared up and was mostly clear in the afternoon, but it
was only about 40F.

There is a frost warning for tonight.

We've had several periods of rain today. That's highly unusual. I
drained the swamp cooler yesterday, because we're supposedly going to
drop to, or below, 32F tomorrow night.
I've turned on the heat, sporadically, for the last couple of weeks. It
may be on for good now.
We had a brutal summer, and I'm looking forward to the other three
seasons. We missed the first month of Fall, but it may be here now.
It was over 80F yesterday. I hope that's the end of it.

Is MISS KITTY growing her thick fluffy winter coat a wee bit early,
then...???

It is getting down to near - freezing here; by Lake Michigan it's always
a few degrees warmer than further inland...

I LUV LUV LUV fall, cool crisp weather, and earlier evenings... and
heartier cooking, too...

I am thinking of doing an apple crisp this weekend...

Hah... waaay ahead of you! I already did my second apple crumble! ;) The
problem is that the wife likes it so much I only get to eat about 20% of
it. She truly is the cookie monster!!

Have you gone fishing? Autumn is good for pike! I wish I could go, but the
house is closed for the season, but I console myself with the fact that my
dear fish are currently growing bigger for me to meet them in spring.

Actually, maybe I'll manage to steal the car to go for a day trip, but I
think the boats are up already, so it would only be fishing from land
which means I won't be able to reach my favourite places. =(

Brilliant and beautiful autumn day with about 14 degrees C. Very
energizing!

Woke up to fog, and the sound of ships' foghorns. It's
sunny now.

On Saturday we woke up to first snow on the mountain
tops.

He had our first frost last night. Hayfever sufferers will be glad to

Goldenrod is rarely a problem.
