I had an eye doctor appointment Monday afternoon and
after leaving his office I went to Walmart to pick
up a few things. I thought this would be a good time
to get my second Shingrix injection as I was one week
from it being two months since my first injection
which was 10-22-2024.

If this injection produced the same side effects as
the first one, I was prepared to be over them well
before Christmas. But they rejected me as even I
was within a week of it being two months the pharmacist
said nope, too early. After first injection the second
one should be administered 2-6 months later.

Well phooey, it looks like I'll be ringing in the new
year with my second jab. I'll head back on Monday,
January 30 for the last injection. Hopefully, the
side effects will only last a day and a half like
the first time.

As I posted before my first injection hurt. Not end of the world pain by
any means but the first shot I have had in years that hurt. Then there
was the soreness afterward. It was quite tender and sore for a long
time, almost to the time that I went back for the second one, and I was
definitely not looking forward to that. However, the second one was
painless. I barely felt the jab and had tenderness later.

Given the experiences of a some of the people who I know who had
shingles I would say it is worth whatever discomfort may result from it.
It is a horrible thing to get. Flu and Covid can put you down for a
few days but people who get shingles are often in serious pain for weeks.

system is probably degraded from taking biologic arthritis drugs, and I
always wonder how much protection a vaccine actually gives me.

sharp pains for about 24 hours but the pills stopped it.
Still, that 24 hours was enough!
I subsequently got the new jab.

I had an eye doctor appointment Monday afternoon and
after leaving his office I went to Walmart to pick
up a few things.  I thought this would be a good time
to get my second Shingrix injection as I was one week
from it being two months since my first injection
which was 10-22-2024.
If this injection produced the same side effects as
the first one, I was prepared to be over them well
before Christmas.  But they rejected me as even I
was within a week of it being two months the pharmacist
said nope, too early.  After first injection the second
one should be administered 2-6 months later.
Well phooey, it looks like I'll be ringing in the new
year with my second jab.  I'll head back on Monday,
January 30 for the last injection.  Hopefully, the
side effects will only last a day and a half like
the first time.
I dreaded going back for my second Shingrix because the first one had
hurt so much. I can't say that I suffered any illness after the shot,
just the pain. I have had varying degrees of tenderness after shots in
the past, but nothing as painful as that or as long lasting. There was
some pain up to a week or two before the second shot. I was not looking
forward to it but the fear of contracting shingles outweighed my
concerns about the pain. As it turned out, the shot was painless. I felt
nothing when I was injected and there was no pain afterwards. That was
about 4 years ago. I have not contracted shingles so I will consider it
to have been the right move.

thinking skills, and a majority of democrats became that way due to the

shingles and pneumonia vaccines after many years of trying.
just because you can safely get both at the same time per the
pharmacist, doesn't mean you should. :facepalm:

i got both at the same time on a friday evening and it knocked
me on my ass for an entire weekend. didn't have any noticeable
side effects from the 2nd shingles vaccine a few months later,
though.

perhaps it'll be the same for you.

Last year I received the flu and RSV vaccines at the same time.
The following day I had to take a rest stop during exercise as
I was so weary. I found out this year that there should be at least
two weeks between those particular shots.
Perhaps it was the same for the shingles and pneumonia ones.

i've been getting flu shots every year for decades. never had a
side effect other than being a bit sore from the needle and never
with another vaccine. i will not be getting two vaccines at the
same time ever again, not after losing an entire weekend from
doing it.
