Post by Cindy HamiltonPost by Dave SmithPost by Cindy HamiltonPost by ItsJoanNotJoAnnPower went out and we'd had a bit of rain, but NO
lightning so it was definitely a surprise to be
sitting here in the dark for so long.
Thanks for the reminder. It's been windy as hell here, and I just
checked my mother's house on the utility's outage map. She's good.
We dodged the bullet on the wild weather alert we had last night. It was
windy enough to dispose of more leaves on my lawn than it deposited.
It did pretty well in the front and side yard, but they piled up along
the north side of the garage in the back yard. I'll get out there with
the lawn tractor in a day or two and crunch them up.
The trees are almost bare now. Well done, wind.
I have one Norway Maple that will hold out for a week or two after all
the other leaves have fallen. Those leaves are big and heavy. I was out
running errands this morning and plan to do a little cleanup this
afternoon. Some of the leaves that got blown around last night ended up
on the lee side of the house and the family room extension. It is
moderately windy this afternoon so they should be dried out and if I use
the snow blower to get them towards the front of the house the wind will
take them across my next door neighbour's yard to the nursery next to them.
