I bought a liter of Bertolli. It never solidified in the fridge. It has a sludge like consistency. One poster here said that olive oil doesn't have to become solid in order to be 100% olive oil.

The North American Olive Oil Association (NAOOA) conducts the nation's largest and most complete olive oil testing and certification program. We purchase olive oil from supermarkets in the USA and Canada and test multiple times per year for adherence to the standards set by the International Olive Council (IOC). The olive oils listed below are certified by the North American Olive Oil Association for both purity and quality. Look for the NAOOA quality seal when shopping for olive oils.

On that list is the one I bought recently:
Pompeian Extra Virgin Olive Oil Robust (32oz bottle)

No noticable taste at all. Very bland.
Their description of "robust" is a joke.
In the fridge, it gets slightly cloudy. Not much.
As I was after a strong tasting evoo, it's out on
my counter now until it starts to go bad. At that
point, I might like it.

Absence from the list doesn’t mean it is bad, it just means the company
isn’t paying extra to have this organization test their oils all the time
so they can be “featured” on their website.

That refrigerator test has long been debunked. It’s a completely invalid
test.

But they don't certify any oils that are not member companies. And
in most cases, these are not actual producers.
