That was some thick cut bacon. A 12oz package had only 5 slices. It
was fairly cheap bacon to begin with (Smithfield), and was very on sale
($2.79), but it tasted great. Unlike most products, that are good way
past their best by date, bacon goes off far before. I got 6 packages
with March dates that I'm going to make sure to use before February.
Shame about the bland tomatoes, but it's that time of year.

"Most of the food described here is nauseating.
We're just too courteous to say so."

Excellent! A bit less L and T and some more B and it would be perfect! =D

I was given a few cryo-vac packs of very thick cut Smithfield bacon for
Christmas. 16 oz, but not many more slices than you got. It's not bad,
but it's too thick to crisp up nicely compared to my preference thinner
bacon.

Christmas morning breakfast was one bacon pack cooked up in the oven,
with half of the bacon grease right into cast iron pan. I fried a small
diced onion and a several diced red potatoes to golden brown to go with.

If you have a freezer there is no need to use up 6 packages of bacon
before the March "best by" date. I'm not sure by what definition that
picture is of "sliders" (looks like toasted french bread, not slider
buns), but hey, enjoy!

No eggs to go with the bacon & fried potatoes Michael?
