Anew Swedish program on the country's history is being scrutinized due
to portrayals by actors of different ethnicities.

The History of Sweden will be broadcast this fall on Sweden's tax-funded
state TV channel Sveriges Television AB (SVT) after nearly three years
of production, described by The Nordic Times as the network's biggest
ever historical venture.

Criticism has followed the arc of the project, however, due to Black and
Middle Eastern actors front and center in previews. Some claim that
their appearance is part of revisionist history and not following proper
science or history, and some view it as a major slight towards white
Europeans of Nordic descent.

The series reportedly documents the history of Sweden dating back to the
Ice Age, all the way to the present.

"As part of the mass media and political campaign for continued mass
immigration to Sweden, it has become increasingly common in recent years
to claim that Sweden has always been multi-ethnic and that the early
Swedes did not in fact look anything like today's light-skinned
Swedes—but more like sub-Saharan Africans—an 'educational campaign'
spearheaded by SVT itself," The Nordic Times wrote in an editorial in June.

As production has continued and publicity for the program has ramped up,
more individuals have expressed antipathy toward the depictions shown in
pre-released images. One of them is Jeff Ahl, a former member of Swedish
Parliament.

"History falsification in full swing," Ahl wrote in May on X, formerly
Twitter. "The cultural Marxist poison must be purged from our
'universities,' which have turned into propaganda institutions, rather
than serious institutions of learning."

Others on X have declared it "state-sanctioned erasure of history,"
adding that it is not Sweden's past, but could be its future.

One user compared its historical accuracy to casting actor Robert Downey
Jr. to play Martin Luther King Jr., referring to it as "a joke."

/A study published in January 2018 in the PLOS scientific journal
examined early postglacial migration routes and adaptation among
Sweden's earliest known inhabitants.

It concluded that there was greater genetic diversity in Mesolithic
northern Europe compared to southern and central Europe and modern-day
patterns—and that many genetic variants common during that period have
been lost today.

/These findings reiterate the importance of human migration for
dispersal of novel technology in human prehistory," the study says./

(But what said study doesn't say is that black Saharans have any
significant DNA in the Swedish smorgasboard!)

We have shown that caution must be taken if Swedes from the northernmost
counties are included in a population-based genetic study, since they
differ genetically from southern Swedes and also amongst themselves.
Genetic patterns do not necessarily follow national borders and
substantial genetic differences may be detectable within a country.

Interesting! This passed me completely by, since I don't live in sweden,
day to day. I vaguely remember my father watching an episode or two, but
he found it quite thin and too popularized, so he went back to his history
books instead.

As for the black cavemen, the argument is that apparently the original
cavemen from the south had darker skin, but later cavemen from the east
came to sweden with whiter skin, and in the end, they achieved supremacy,
and hence our modern very beautiful white skin!

The danger these days though, is that we have imported new cavemen from
the middle east, again with darker skin, so we'll see who will prevail in
the end. =/

So in the end it all worked out.

But of course there would be darker skinned migrants, such is the
nomadic nature of our responses to interglacial periods.

I just reject that they were Saharan, but one can't say for certain.

I am put in mind of the Mormons' earlier doctrinal chastening to native
cultures to become a "white and delightsome" entity.

There seem to be many more forces that wish actual whiteness away now.

That is disturbing, as ethnic cleansings go.

For much of its history, the Salt Lake City-based LDS Church edition of
the Book of Mormon taught that dark-skinned Lamanites (Indians) would
eventually experience a change in the color of their skin should they
embrace the Book of Mormon. Except for a single edition (1840), 2 Nephi
30:6 has read:

“…their scales of darkness shall begin to fall from their eyes; and many
generations shall not pass away among them, save they shall be a white
and a delightsome people.”

In 1981, the LDS Church decided to change what Joseph Smith called “the
most correct of any book on earth” by reverting to the wording of the
lone 1840 edition. The word “white” was replaced with the word “pure.”
Some Mormons insist that this was a clarification since the word was
never meant to refer to a person with dark skin pigmentation who would
magically turn white based upon a conversion to the Mormon gospel;
rather, it is claimed that the change referred to a cleaner state of
heart. This assumption fails to explain (or counter) other passages in
the Book of Mormon that still make a connection with “iniquity” and skin
color. For example, 2 Nephi 5:21 still says:

“And he had caused the cursing to come upon them, yea, even a sore
cursing, because of their iniquity. For behold, they had hardened their
hearts against him, and they had become like unto a flint; wherefore, as
they were white, and exceedingly fair and delightsome, that they might
not be enticing unto my people the Lord God did cause a skin of
blackness to come upon them.”

Third Nephi 2:12-15 continues to teach that dark-skinned Lamanites who
converted unto the Lord had their curse “taken from them, and their skin
became white like unto the Nephites.”
