This is *not* a "grilled cheese" made with process cheese, Wonder bread
and margarine, like my mother used to make back in the '60s and '70s. I
can understand folks being nostalgic for many aspects of their youth,
but I certainly don't miss the food. When I was a kid, avocado was a
hue of green that was popular for kitchen appliances. It wasn't until I
was 7 that I even knew that it was a fruit, and I doubt that I ever saw
one outside of a picture in a book until I was much older. Now we can
buy them at any supermarket.

Very nice sammiches..

And BTW, down in Oz where Miss Bruce The Worthless lives, "avocado" is a
derogatory slang term to describe homosexuals...

🐸

PS: Bryan how is your knee doing, IIRC you mentioned it being painful a

Turkey cut off of a turkey, Swiss cheese, lots of butter and this bread.
https://www.walmart.com/ip/Brownberry-Natural-Wheat-Bread-24-oz/10449439
That bread is also great for hearty French toast and PBJs, and just
toasted and buttered. Those things are for my wife though. No bread
for me.
And BTW, down in Oz where Miss Bruce The Worthless lives, "avocado" is a
derogatory slang term to describe homosexuals...
I wonder if there will ever be a retro trend where they make kitchen
appliances in avocado green.

It never really hurts anymore, but sometimes feels weird. Losing a
boatload of weight seemed to help a lot. I went back to hardcore low
carbing a few days ago. I need to lose the 5-7 pounds I put on since
May, plus about 8-10 more. I figure that every June I'm going to gain
some weight because that's cherry season, and dark sweet cherries are
one of the things I love most in life.

Oh yes. I do want that. I've wanted a station wagon since about the
time they quit making them, and that one is a beauty. There is one car
I want more though, an early 2000s Thunderbird in light blue or white.

Finally, a link worth clicking on. Some people think they are well off
if they can buy a $40,000 new vehicle. Me, I'd buy one of those, and
use that money to pay someone to make that station wagon better than it
was when it rolled off the showroom floor.

A few years later, replaced it with this. It later became my son's

The fake wood is awful. I had a fake wood dashboard in a Lada Station
around 1990. I glued a little speaker on it for my car radio. Also
awful.

Those hearses would be hell to park in Australian parking lots these
days.

1965 AMC Rambler 660 Station Wagon. That's what I learned to drive on.
The guy at the DMV was pretty impressed I managed to parallel park it,
but it did take several more steps than normal as you can guess.

Bidding closed at $7,800. Well sold & well bought.

I wish the happy new owner the very best and hope that with 4-wheel drum
brakes and Overdrive, this wagon never follows me down a longish
mountain descent. Is that brake shoe I smell?

(Snicker). Actually a little OT is fine, just not endless drivel on

Do you think Politics is dead and gone now the US
election is over? Wake up. You don't even understand how
"politics" is changing America's food production and
supply.

You drivel on about your latest symptoms and health
issues. To make that relevant to a food group maybe we
should discuss whether your personal health or lack of it;
the pain, collapsing bones, joints, immune system,
allergies, poor mobility, "weakness", escalating
disabilities... are in any way related to your personal
diet.

Recipes you post with a shedload of highly processed
ingredients full of preservatives, chemicals, additives,
fake colourings and flavourings. So many smoked/preserved
sausages; burgermeat, tatertots, canned soup, canned fish
and stock;commercial jar sauces, the cheapest possible
meats, fake crab.

Canned fish isn't all bad. 48 million Spaniards can't be
completely wrong with their fondness for _conservas_.

I've been eating Ortiz tuna for a few years now.

I wonder if there will ever be a retro trend where they make kitchen
appliances in avocado green.

Avocado green appliances might be making a comeback but the articles
should have included a picture of one.

I used to have a lime green Mazda RX-3. It had an automatic instead of a
4 speed but it was still a heck of a lot of fun. I spotted a bright
green shag rug in the back of that wagon when I was checking it out to
buy it. It was in the shape of a big footprint and something clicked in
my brain - I knew I had to have it! A zippy, small station wagon with a
rotary engine in an awesome lime green is just guaranteed to be a
wagon-load of fun. Mazda had a lot of guts to offer it as a color
option.

Another post that didn't show up.

🐸
PS:  Bryan how is your knee doing, IIRC you mentioned it being painful a
whiles back...
