It will be meat sauce spaghetti and garlic bread at
my humble abode. A neighbor will get a generous
plate and bread. Yes, parmesan cheese, and no, not
the stuff in the green can will also be part of this
meal.

Some brown rice and veg with Teriyaki sauce - just like "dsi1"
does...!!!

Veg is red onion, broccoli, celery, cukes, and diced tomato...

Garnished with cilantro and fried onion...

I am REALLY enjoying watching how President Trump is "upsetting the DC
apple cart"... many wins so far, and will also have some loses, but "all
is good" for 2025...

Yup, and even she was *so* embarrassed by it she shortly took it down,
lol...

As my dear departed mom would say when she saw something ridiculous,
instead of "good grief", she'd say "Good Gravy...!!!"

<chuckle>

The liberal meltdowns are EPIC, and SO enjoyable to watch...

Thanks, I'll have a look. Someone in another thread I though made a mention
she took it down because of shame or something along those lines. Be
interesting to see what was so bad about it.

TRUTH SOCIAL:

The Heritage Foundation

@Heritage

"President Trump just announced that he will be signing an executive
order to prepare a 30,000 bed migrant facility at the U.S. Guantanamo
Bay Naval Base to detain illegal aliens...

The U.S. has housed tens of thousands of migrants and refugees at U.S.
military bases before, including at Guantanamo Bay, and in a recent
border security report, we recommended that the Trump administration use
the base for today’s mass migration crisis...

Amd THE DONALD just got RICHER, Sire Hank... BOOYAH...!!!

Meta Settles Trump Lawsuit for $25 Million over Suspended Accounts After
January 6

https://www.nationalreview.com/news/meta-settles-trump-lawsuit-for-25-million-over-suspended-accounts-after-january-6/

"Meta has agreed to pay $25 million to settle a lawsuit filed by
President Donald Trump against the social-media company after it
suspended his Facebook and Instagram accounts following the January 6
Capitol riot in 2021...

The settlement marks a major victory for Trump, who previously
criticized social-media companies for censoring him four years ago but
has lately welcomed their chief executives into his inner circle. Meta’s
Mark Zuckerberg is one such executive who embraced the new
administration and even attended Trump’s inauguration...

As part of the agreement, Meta won’t admit to any wrongdoing but will
pay $25 million. Of that money, $22 million will be allocated toward a
fund for Trump’s presidential library while the rest will cover legal
fees and pay the other plaintiffs in the case. Trump signed the
settlement in the Oval Office on Wednesday..."

25 million is chump change for Meta. What it really is is a paying
tribute to Trump so Zuckerberg can sit at the big boy table with other
ASD rich boys. It's money well spent, actually.

Took my granddaughter to laundromat and shopping. She always buys
something for me and today it is a package of brioche rolls. So, dinner
will be a couple pieces of chicken, couple of rolls and a salad.

Oh, she buys me flowers too. My living room always has flowers in it,
she keeps me stocked.

Some leftover soup made by step-daughter, with a sandwich of ham and

I have yet to buy Rice-A-Roni. It's not that I have anything against
it, I simply forget to add it to the shopping list.

The chicken wings/drummies look good but I don't understand paying that
much money for the tiny amount of meat. At least you didn't slather
them with hot sauce and call them Buffalo wings. ;)

IMO. you've not missed much. Rice is just a carrier for whatever flavor
is in the box. It is cheap and easy, that can be a benefit at times.
Uncle Ben has the pouches that cook in 90 seconds in the MW.

I like wings, ate them for years until that guy in Buffalo ruined them
for the rest of us. Years ago, they were dirt cheap. Today, you can
pay $3.00 a pound. Years ago, in today's money, I bought 5# bags for 50
cents a pound. Not paying the crazy price.

Ahem, it's Ben's. He lost his Uncle status. ;) I've tried those
pouches. They're convenient but there's something odd about the
texture. Perhaps because it's parboiled?

Yep, wings used to be cheap scraps. For what little meat you get, not
worth the cost these days. A contradiction in terms, I do (*rarely*)
buy a package of the drummies and use them to make baked breaded
chicken. Along with simple seasonings, I add grated Parmesan cheese.

Ahem! NO WAY I'm eating microwave rice! I am a rice snob like most
folks who eat it very often. Ricemaker in use 5-6 days a week here.
Right now I have 4 rices in stock. Japanese medium grain (sticky),
Basmati (long), Jasmine (longish brown), Sweet sushi short grain, and
Carolina gold.

As it turns out, I took a picture. Lots of Rice-A-Roni in our diet.
<https://postimg.cc/phGh91Zz>
I have yet to buy Rice-A-Roni.  It's not that I have anything
against it, I simply forget to add it to the shopping list.
The chicken wings/drummies look good but I don't understand paying
that much money for the tiny amount of meat.  At least you didn't
slather them with hot sauce and call them Buffalo wings. ;)
Jill
IMO. you've not missed much. Rice is just a carrier for whatever
flavor is in the box. It is cheap and easy, that can be a benefit at
times. Uncle Ben has the pouches that cook in 90 seconds in the MW.

I am sure everyone knows how much you love rice.

I got my wife a package of microwave rice. She can have that with a
package of pre-made curry. My wife might be a rice snob but she thinks
it's a pretty good meal.

Westerners think of rice as a side dish. The Asians think of rice as an
integral part of a meal. With a bowl of rice and a small bit of
salty/spicy meat, you can have a pretty good meal. Rice is the reason
that the Hawaiians can make a meal out of a single slice of Spam. That's
the idea behind a Spam musubi. Breakfast this morning was a loco moco.
It was a pretty good meal.

I've never heard of that nor have I ever considered rice a side dish.

Nothing odd about that. Hell, lots of asians only use one kind of rice.

And she's an honorary citizen of Sasebo ain't she?

we have one. i eat very little of it these days myself.
yet happened to have just finished eating some leftover rice
from takeout that i turned into a dessert.

in other times i frequently was eating brown rice and
lentils as i liked that combination. Mom doesn't care much
for lentils or brown rice and i can get plenty of carbs and
legumes by eating others instead.

Opps, that's 5. Thw sweet Sushi would probably work well in a rice
pudding sort of dish, I haven't had one of those since gradeschool
lunches. It wasn't very tasty but that's likely just the 'school lunch
blahs'. Charlotte likes it so I stock it.

It's not about the meat. It's about the flavor imparted by the
skin and fat.

We do Rice-a-roni at times. It's higher in sodium than I am
comfortable with Don but as a treat, he likes it.

Untried but David may have, or might be interested in, was a snippet of
a recipe where you toast/fry the rice in a bitofbutter then make
rice-a-roni in the ricemaker. I passed it to Charlotte as in her
barracks room, they are allowed a ricemaker and her roomate has one.
(they have limits on gear in rooms just like college dorms have, for
safety).

Oh, here's the belated picture of last nights casserole. Not fancy but
tasted really good.

<https://postimg.cc/cr4GrFSM>

It had been a month or more since I made a casserole. This one was a
very cheesy chicken in alredo sauce with a bit of my mildest curry
powder that became just a hint in the background.

I caught 'em. I don't care much for the little drumsticks but that's DEI
for you.

People love wings because of the high skin+fat/meat ratio. The Chinese
like to also eat the cartilage.
