Dear rfc:ers,

Yesterday I decided to try out Cowboy Kents 2 ingredient biscuit recipe. I
could not find self-rising flour so in the end it was a 4 ingredient
recipe, since I also ran out of cream.

In the end, this is what was mixed:

4.5 dl wheat flour
2 dl cream
1.5 dl milk
1.5 tsp of baking powder

Obviously not as good as Cowboy Kent, but after about 20-25 minutes or so
at 200 C, they came out and were _perfect_!

Nice crust, and very soft and fluffy, went perfectly with some butter.
That was all that was needed.

Today I toasted one for lunch, and it tasted almost as good. We'll see
about tomorrow.

Highly recommended and will most definitely make again! =)

I imagine the odor when he shits himself would be slightly different
from when he eats McD's biscuits.

Butter drop biscuits are stupidly simple to make. You mix up some
self-rising flour with milk and dump it in a pan filled with butter. Of
course, I'll add some sugar. You gotta have sugar.

Looks nice! I'll have to look into this type of recipe. Does sound much
nicer than having to bother with kneading and making small buns. I'll
probably skip the sugar though... I have become too sensitive to sugar as
I've gotten older.

Self-rising flour is pretty magical. I've made bread with SRF, a bottle
of beer, some cheese, and jalapeno peppers. Wow - tasty. It tastes like
a yeast bread. Amazing!

NY Post:

AG Pam Bondi orders DOJ to pause all funding for sanctuary cities

"WASHINGTON — Newly inaugurated Attorney General Pam Bondi ordered the
defunding of jurisdictions that refuse to cooperate with federal
immigration authorities Wednesday — potentially cutting off a
significant money source for New York...

Bondi, 59, issued the edict shortly after being sworn in by Supreme
Court Justice Clarence Thomas at an Oval Office ceremony with President
Trump in attendance...

“[T]he Department of Justice will ensure that, consistent with law,
‘sanctuary jurisdictions’ do not receive access to Federal funds from
the Department,” Bondi’s first-day memo says...

The federal government is expected to provide more than $8 billion in
funding to New York City agencies in fiscal 2025, according to municipal
data..."

Unfortunately, it was the Brits that invented self-rising flour. Well,
that's if you insist on calling selling flour with baking powder and
salt already in it an "invention."

It must be an invention. People buy it. I don't. I guess the big trick
was to get people to publish recipes that called for it. Instead of
adding a little baking powder to flour a lot of people will go out and
pay more for the self rising flour.

Who can blame them? There're not nearly enough salt in there.

I just checked the online prices at Kroger for plain and
self-rising flour. The price is the same for both with
the exception of one or two brands PLAIN flour being the
more expensive of the two.

Pretty much the same difference in prices at Walmart as
well.

I invented some cinnamon sugar today by mixing up some sugar with
cinnamon. The most innovative part of this was doing it in a baggie.
Perhaps a little salt will be phase II of this product. I can tell, this
is going to be big!

I have been making cinnamon sugar since I was a kid. I was really
surprised to see it for sale in the spice section of a grocery store and
for a hefty price.

Many years ago I was working in Fort Erie and we often had coffee at a
little diner. At the time it was 45 cents for an order of toast and
there was a bowl of individual servings of jams, jellies and honey. You
could use as many as you wanted. Cinnamon toast was 40 cents. I argued
with the owner about it. I thought it was ridiculous to charge so much
for cinnamon toast when the little bit of cinnamon sugar involved would
be so much cheaper than the jams. He stuck to his guns.... so I add
extra jam to help him prove his point.

It must be an invention. People buy it. I don't. I guess the big trick
was to get people to publish recipes that called for it. Instead of
adding a little baking powder to flour a lot of people will go out and
pay more for the self rising flour.
And now you are on diabetes medication:-)

I am not diabetic but am prescribed Jardiance because it is supposed to
be pretty good at reducing the risk of heart failure.

sometimes it is just because more options adds more
complications and time and storage requirements. it's
not always about the simple cost of materials it can
instead be about time and complexity for staff and that
means every time you hire someone new you have to spend
time telling them where things are and what to do. in
the food industry staff turnover is a huge issue.

don't you think that such considerations should be
obvious?

My guess is that Trump invented the cheeseburger. Trumpburger. If you
want a plain burger, just ask for a Trumpburger without cheese.

I made 3 pieces of toast this morning. I put cinnamon sugar on one,
Nutella on another, and strawberry jam on the last piece. I told my
granddaughter to pick one. I wanted the one with strawberry jam on it.
Thank goodness she picked the cinnamon toast. I was hoping that she'd
eat the Nutella too but she didn't want it. Now I'm stuck with Nutella
toast. There's a bunch of chickens right outside my door. I guess I can
throw it out to them. Hope it doesn't kill them.

I'm sorry to hear that. =( Wasn't it possible to negotiate with your
granddaughter or pay her off? I find it troubling that she would let you
starve, deprived of strawberry jam. =(

I think they'll be alright! Go for it! =) I had my regular breakfast
consisting of greek youghurt with diced apple in it, and 2 cups of coffee.

THE NEW YORK POST:

Teen, 17, in critical condition after stabbing at anti-Trump protest

By Nicholas McEntyre Feb. 8, 2025

"A teenage boy was stabbed and left in critical condition during an
anti-Trump protest outside Los Angeles City Hall when multiple fights
broke out Friday afternoon...

The 17-year-old was among a large group of people in Downtown LA
protesting against President Donald Trump’s immigration and deportation
laws...

The protest collapsed into chaos and violence just after 1:30 p.m. when
the fights broke out, the Los Angeles Police Department said...

The unidentified teen was in the middle of a large crowd in the park
across the street from city hall, with his shirt stripped off and
covered with blood, according to footage by KTLA...

As the teen was on the ground, protesters continued to wave around
multiple, non-American flags, including the Mexican and Argentinian
flags...

Before the stabbing, another crowd got into a melee where several
protesters exchanged punches in the middle of the street before others
broke them apart, feet away from city hall...

The violent demonstration marked the sixth day protesters took to the
streets around the liberal city to protest Trump’s orders to strengthen
immigration policy in the country including high schools students that
walked out of class to join the rallies, according to the outlet..."

It's good that order is restored, but it is sad that our democrats and
illegal immigrants become violent. They will in time, also learn to love
our lord and saviour Trump! =)

Dear rfc:ers,
Yesterday I decided to try out Cowboy Kents 2 ingredient biscuit
recipe.
I
could not find self-rising flour so in the end it was a 4 ingredient
recipe, since I also ran out of cream.
http://youtu.be/JChsJKysZfs .
Butter drop biscuits are stupidly simple to make. You mix up some
self-rising flour with milk and dump it in a pan filled with butter. Of
course, I'll add some sugar. You gotta have sugar.
https://photos.app.goo.gl/dryLuZxRj2CLLxE16
https://photos.app.goo.gl/3SB9tdkuy4ahif7f9
Looks nice! I'll have to look into this type of recipe. Does sound much
nicer than having to bother with kneading and making small buns. I'll
probably skip the sugar though... I have become too sensitive to sugar as
I've gotten older.
Self-rising flour is pretty magical. I've made bread with SRF, a bottle
of beer, some cheese, and jalapeno peppers. Wow - tasty. It tastes like
a yeast bread. Amazing!
It is yet another way in which the US is a better country than Sweden! The
swedes have not yet invented this, sadly.
Did you know that apparently, Trump invented self-rising flour! I had no
idea!
Unfortunately, it was the Brits that invented self-rising flour. Well,
No, I asked Trump and he said the brits stole it from him!

Yoose can adapt any recipe for da hawaiians by adding 5 pounds of sugar.

The closer yoose get to 100% sugar, the closer to perfect hawaiian
vittles Tojo.

It has come to my attention that milk and the drinking of milk could be
trending. People are buying more whole milk and less plant based milk.
There's currently a lot of interest in raw milk. America seems to be
going backwards culturally. It's probably not a good sign.

If you started to drink milk David (and train) you could get 6-pack abs
too. =)
