It's almost as if they are punishing people for using their platform.
Can't use an Ad Blocker. They'll nag you to death and block your view
until you turn it off. Then they make you sit through ads for things
you'll probably never buy. Sure, after a few seconds you can click SKIP
but the ads pop back up in the middle of whatever you're viewing. And
they keep bugging you to BUY the "premium" version.

This is what happens when conglomerates like Google take over. What
used to be a fun place to go to relax and watch some music videos or
informational videos is now painful. Thanks a lot for destroying
Youtube, Google.

I never see ads on YouTube. uBlock Origin and Adblock Plus. I don't
know which one blocks what.

And then there's Brave:
https://brave.com/

"Brave is a privacy-focused browser, which automatically blocks most
advertisements and website trackers in its default settings."

But you'll probably never read this. Ghe ghe.

have Adblock Plus but it does not block YouTube. I used to watch a
lot of music videos but no more. Sometimes they will even break in the
middle of a long one.

There are other sources of music with no ads.

Maybe if you install uBlock Origin as well. It comes for various
browsers:
https://ublockorigin.com/

I have it and Adblock Plus and I don't get ads on YouTube.

I just deal with the commercials, knowing that's how they pay the bills.
Jill does not to complain. I'm happily married and you're a homo, but
there has to be a guy out there who will give her a regular servicing.
I'd complain too...

Poor Widder Jill couldn't even find some hapless mope to *pay* to snap

She still stuffs wads of tissue into her bra cups, but even with this,
she'll never have a pair of "perky pointers"...

Why don't you use firefox with ublock origin? I never see ads on youtube.
Another option could be to download Freetube, which does a lot of that for
you.

A third option could be to have a look at rumble, odyssey and the other up
and coming competitors.

Yes, you are right in that google is trying their best to destroy youtube.
On my side, in my browser, recommendations no longer work for some reason,
but I moved on to greener pastures.

Recommendations reminds me. I got an email from eBay recommending this
item. https://www.ebay.com/itm/225738385836 It's in Singapore, local
pickup only. Yeah, I'd love to have that dryer, and the price is
astounding, but...

I got out of the habit of clicking on links to YouTube. I can understand
them wanting to make a little money on advertising but it has become
absurd. I don't want to sit through two minutes of video advertising
while waiting for a video that may be of no interest at all.

I generally don't bother clicking on any Youtube links posted here but
it used to be an enjoyable diversion to watch videos while doing a load
of laundry, for example. The constant bombardment of ads has completely
ruined the site. Once again, thanks Google for f'ing it up.
