I dropped my wife at the grocery store while I went to the liquor store
for some wine. I got back to the grocery store just as the she was
picked up two cooked lobsters.

We stopped at the corner bakery for a quick lunch and we talked about
picking up a couple desserts for tonight. I had a brain wave. She
confirmed that we had a can of pineapple rings in the pantry so I
decided to make a pineapple upside down cake. I haven't had one in years.

Fancy!

I almost bought a (raw) lobster tail when I was at the meat market
today. I love lobster but I don't love the price. I do know how to
prep a lobster tail for broiling or grilling. Cut the underside off
using kitchen shears then bend the tail shell backwards until it cracks.
This is to prevent curling when you cook it.

I don't think I've ever tasted a pineapple upside down cake. Enjoy!

This is the truth! Reminds me when I went to Boston once, and ordered the
biggest lobster in the restaurant. It was enormous! It must have sunk many
ships when it lived. ;)

I like to use crushed pineapple instead of rings. Rings look nicer but
it causes problems when you cut the cake. I'm going to have to make me
some too! I think it's a good idea to line the bottom of the pan with
parchment.

That sounds very good.

I'm going to have a Wagyu rib eye tonight.

I may be alone, but I won't be lonely. Too long a story to post here.

I love pineapple upside down cake. I wish my bakery made it. It
would be pointless for me to make one; I'd have to eat it all myself.
(I bet it would freeze well, though.)

We don't do Valentine's Day. He went out to lunch with a buddy;
I had leftover saag paneer, rice, and naan.

Salad for dinner.

I can see it being a good think to offer in bakeries. I love the stuff
and don't mind having leftovers over a period of time, but it is really
sweet stuff and getting it one or two pieces at a time would be a good
option for people.

Sounds good. My wife was convinced to forgo her walk today because of
the ice. She came along with me to shop and we ended up having lunch
at the corner bakery. We shared a spicy ham and maple cheddar sandwich
with mango chutney.

I buy this frozen. One minute in the MW, let stand 2 minutes and on the
plate. Handy to have, nice size for a snack.

It was leftover garlic parmesan chicken here and it was
better today than yesterday when I made it. But I don't
think I'll make it again, but a neighbor loved it.

Hot and dry, I bet.
