We bought some of those at Aldi. Warmed them on top of the coffee cup.

We can find them in most stores around here. They are pretty good when
fresh but when they get old they can get a little hard to bite apart. A
few years ago I had a friend coming to visit and asked what I would like
her to bring me. I suggested Stroopwafels, thinking she might get them
fresh from a bakery. Nope. She brought them in a nice sort of Deft
cookie jar and inside was a package of the mass produced ones, basically
the same as the stores around here sell.

As our Dutch community grows there have been a number of Dutch owned
produce stores that have opened up and they all sell Stroopwafels. I
don't know if it is a higher turnover of a more discerning base of
customers, but theirs are always nice and fresh.

When my son was living in Toronto and in Montreal he always want to go
to a Dutch store when he visited. He said he wanted to get Dutched Up by
stocking up on Stroopwafels, salty licorice and curry ketchup.

Christmas gift. It used to come in a nice metal tin but now it doesn't.
