A friend is having some oil burner problems so I told her about
what we did some years back.  One of the regulars here at the time
mentioned Energy Kinetics so I did some research and a local
company sold them.
Just want to mention  it while it came up and some of you here may
be thinking about upgrading.  We saved 38% over previous use so it
paid for itself over a few years.Reduced use by hundreds of
gallons.

I thought all Democrats used heat pumps powered by windmills and
solar panels and unicorn farts.

Here there is a shortage of °s. The wind chill was -17F this morning.

When I was stationed at Loring AFB, ME the local regulation was that
people were not allowed to work on the flightline when the wind chill
went below -69F. The news stations reported wind chills below that,
but on base the official wind chill never went below -69F.

When working on airplanes you had to take your gloves off so someone
would point a blast heater at your hands for the five minutes you were
allowed to be out there.

Similar, but opposite, at Nellis AFB in Las Vegas. Above 120F we were
supposed to wear gloves to prevent burning our hands, but you really
can't work that way. Above 140F we were supposed to only be on the
flightline at the Commander's direction. 110 in the shade can easily
exceed 140 on the flightline, thanks to the endless concrete and asphalt
out there.
