Well it came out just as I thought! Only thing is the green onions
were no longer prime (should have gotten some yesterday) so I used red
and orange bell peppers and it looked pretty against the darker
Shiitake mushrooms.
Recipe for 3 generous servings
12oz chicken breast cut up bite size
1/2 c McCormick's Chicken gravy powder (2.5 c yield)
6 oz Mushroom (takes to several types)
2 c water
1 TB Vadouvan curry powder (Garam Masala is close and easier to find)
Cooked rice. Highly suggest Basmati as it's delicate flavor shines
through nicely and even handles fairly well with chopsticks if you like.
- Basmati is slightly off the 1 part rice and 2 parts water. Add 1 TB
more rice per every 2 cups water to get fluffy rice. (1 c rice plus 1
TB rice then 2 cups water). Since Don and I like rice, we made 3 cups
and there's only a few spoonfuls left for the dog.

I abandoned the sides but yes, there's rice under the curry and more
rice (with butter) piled around the bowl. Don and I both had about 1.5
cups rice.
Curry tip- Vadouvan should be added last, after the gravy is thickened
then let simmer only another minute or 2. In comparison if you want a
heavy curry like Maderas, start it right with the powder and be aware
it gets hotter as it cooks into the dish so best to start with less.
This recipe is designed for making nice 'gravy swamps'. Make less if
you don't want so much. The gravy bulk container uses 1/4c per cup
water.
