As a child, I loved raspberry ripple ice cream but have not seen it in
stores here for years. The closest I've found is Baskin-Robbins Baseballl
Nut. Anyone know of a US national or regional (not local mom and pop)
brand of Raspberry Ripple ice cream?

I've never eaten it nor seen it, but Culver's Restaurant make a mean
frozen custard sundae with crust and whole raspberries. Quite a mouth
treat!

If I remember correctly, I thought Breyer's made a raspberry ripple ice
cream, but I could be wrong. I believe I have purchased it at either
Walgreen's or Walmart, but it has been awhile.

Appears it's widely available in the UK, but not much of anywhere else.

Easy to make at home if you have a freezer.

I'd make my own sauce with fresh raspberries

Are they picked by children who happily prance through the raspberry
bushes whilst holding hands and singing traditional folk songs?

Thanks for the tip. I checked it out and it is close; but, not quite
raspberry ripple. In addition to the raspberry puree, it has chunks of
raspberry chocolate truffles. What I'm looking for is just vanilla ice
cream with a swirl of raspberry jam/puree.

Easy to use vanilla ice cream and top with raspberry preserves.
probably a much better quality of fruit stuff, too.

I have tried similar, with vanilla ice cream and Smucker's raspberry
preserves; but the taste I'm going for can only be achieved with a ribbon of
raspberry swirled through. The raspberry on, rather than in, is good; but
much more intense. To achieve what I'm looking for, I'd need to let the ice
cream almost melt until soft enough to swirl in the raspberry. Which,
having just "voiced" that thought, suggests I try a cup of softserve and
swirl raspberry into it.

Worst case, I'll continue to eat baseball nut on occasion and make raspberry
ripple at home every now and then.

I'm going to be on the lookout for it in some of the lesser known stores I
shop at, not to buy, but just to see if it's available anywhere.

I suspect this is like many food and drink items I recall from childhood,
they were regional favorites, offered by regional providers. As
transportation became better, regional favorites lost ground to products
with a national reach. The dairy products of my youth, including raspberry
ripple ice cream, were Kentucky Maid, a now defunct brand. I'm sure there
were other brands of raspberry ripple, in other places, I had hoped that
some brand had survived.

I would greatly appreciate a shout-out should you run across it.

Will do, and imagine you are so right with regional favorites, I miss some
of them but do occasionally find something like that at places like .99 cent
store etc.

Did you ever happen to run across the Millstadt Creamery in
Millstadt, Illinois? It wasn't too far from St. Louis.
Unfortunately it is now defunct, but they had some of the best ice
cream I have ever tasted. When I was growing up my dad and I would
periodically drive there to pick up a half dozen different flavors
(either 3 or 5 gallon size) to store in our chest freezer. It was
like having an ice cream store at home. :-)

I would greatly appreciate a shout-out should you run across it.
I have not seen raspberry ripple in years. It may be because it
wasn't very good. If you want to try raspberry ripple and you
want to be impressed you should try making your own. Of course
that would involve owning a machine.
A number of years ago someone gave us a basket of Italian plums.
Those things were nasty, so I used them to make a compote. The
compote was pretty good. I was in need of a batch of ice cream and
it occurred to me that I could make a plum ripple. I never made
it again, but it was really good.
We had Italian plum trees when we lived in Ohio. I used to make plum
jam every year. It was delicious. Maybe they're just not that good
eating out of hand.

The jam would likely be similar to the compote. There is enough sugar to
counteract the bitter and the sour of the raw plums. The richness of
the home made ice cream balanced it all nicely.... but I have no
intention of doing it again.

If we hadn't had the plum trees in the yard, I doubt that we would have
made jam every year. :-)

That's what I'd do... I can buy fresh raspberries but than I'd have to
deal with the seeds. Raspberry preserves are available (Smuckers)
without seeds.

As a child, I loved raspberry ripple ice cream but have not seen it in
stores here for years. The closest I've found is Baskin-Robbins Baseballl
Nut.
B&R's Baseball Nut has been around fer decades. It's a seasonal
ice-cream (beginning baseball season) which I've eaten for over 40
yrs. Now, that I live in rural CO, no more B&R BN! 8(

Never seen any other raspberry ripple brands. You might try some
vanilla ice cream and squirt some raspberry coulis, on it. That or
some vanilla ice cream and spoon some raspberry jam, over it. ;)

I may have to make my own during the off-season. Baseball Nut is good; but,
as you say seasonal and, even here in the "big city" BR's are getting harder
to find.

brand of Raspberry Ripple ice cream?

So can you eat this ice cream in all the seasons?

I'm eating Li Hing Vanilla Float from Asato Family Shop. It's sour,
sweet, salty, and vanilla in a sherbet. Evidently, people go crazy over
this stuff. It ain't bad.
