When a recipe says something is "deviled," it means the dish is prepared
with a mixture of spicy and tangy seasonings. The term originally
referred to the heat level, often incorporating mustard, cayenne pepper,
or other spices that give it a bit of a kick.

A classic example is deviled eggs, where the yolks are mixed with
ingredients like mustard, mayonnaise, and spices before being piped back
into the egg whites. The term can apply to other dishes as well, like
deviled ham or deviled crab, where the main ingredient is mixed with a
variety of seasonings to create a zesty flavor profile.

It’s a technique that adds an extra layer of flavor and excitement to a
dish, making it "devilish" in its zest.

I get it though, they look like deviled eggs.
